COMPANY
Yahoo!
GOAL
Create a storyboard to communicate and test new innovative concepts which allow people to annotate on top of Yahoo! Maps.
ROLE
I worked closely with 2 other UX Designers to created comic storyboards based on use case scenarios. We worked closely with a User Researcher to test these concepts with participants. We tested 3 different concept storyboards using the RITE user research method. We swapped out storyboard frames in between participants to continuously advance the best solution. One of the benefits of using a comic based approach is that participants really open up and shared their own stories.
This process was pioneered by Kevin Cheng and I at Yahoo!, which Kevin has captured in his book:
See What I Mean: How to Use Comics to Communicate Ideas.
